Year 2021 is challenging. The prevailing global pandemic has created many economic challenges in      Sri Lanka as well as at global level.   

Sri Lanka is a republic. In other words, the sovereign power of the country is vested in the people. The manner in which the said sovereign power should be exercised is stipulated in the Constitution. Accordingly, Article 4 of the Constitution stipulates that the legislative power of the people shall be exercised by the Parliament.
