From the 1st to the 4th of July, One Text Initiative of Sri Lanka, with the support of DEMO Finland held a series of training (two-day residential training) on Capacity Development and Election Preparation for Sinhala Speaking Pradeshiya Saba members. Women leaders from Rathnapura, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Colombo, Matara, Kalutara, Gampaha, Galle, and Hambanthota attended. This training is a series of training conducted by the OTI- and the latest training focused on Gender Budgeting and the Use of Social Media to engage with the electorate, protection in cyberspace, and various mechanisms available to create more space for women in politics. Furthermore, a greater portion of the training time was spent improving the public speaking skills of the participants.
