Sri Lanka rupee ends steady in one-week forwards market

Sri Lanka’s rupee closed steady at 197/197.50 levels to the US dollar in the one-week forwards market on Tuesday while bond yields remained unchanged, dealers said.

The rupee last closed in the one- week forward market at 197.50/198.00 to the US dollar on Friday.

In the secondary market bond yields remained unchanged while the overall market witnessed dull activity, dealers said.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2022 closed at 5.83/88 per cent on Tuesday, up from 5.75/83 per cent at Monday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.11.2023 closed at 6.23/30 per cent on Tuesday, steady from 6.20/30 per cent at Monday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.12.2024 closed at 6.60/68 per cent on Monday, up from 6.65/70 per cent at Monday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 closed at 6.70/85 per cent, down from 6.75/90 per cent at Monday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2026 closed at 7.00/10 per cent down from 7.05/10 at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 closed at 7.40/50 per cent, up from 7.40/48 per cent at the previous day’s close.

A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 closed at 8.00/30 per cent on Tuesday, down from 8.15/50 per cent at the previous day’s end.
